On Water Street, just north of Simcoe, you will find Peterborough’s newest gem, Amandala’s, a quaint 34 seat restaurant full of charm and character, with exposed brick walls and a lovely little patio, offering a warm and cozy atmosphere. Featuring delectable cuisine made from the freshest, local ingredients and expertly prepared from scratch by Chef Simon Brown, coupled with exceptional service conducted by the owner/ operator Ms. Amanda Menard, Amandala’s delivers a uniquely gratifying dining experience.

Having spent several years in the hospitality industry, paired with many previous years of management, quality control and customer service experience, and a passion for food and beverage, Amanda brings to the restaurant a strong desire to provide an exceptional spot to dine in Peterborough. As co-owner of Nicolini’s for three years, she has developed a deep love for this city and the incredible people who reside here. She wanted to bring something different and unique to the community that has touched and embraced her with their kindness and generosity. Amandala’s is committed and proud to be using local ingredients and working with local suppliers to create a fresh and delicious menu that Peterborough can truly call it’s own.

Simon started working in kitchens at 16 years old before achieving a diploma in Culinary Management from Georgian College after high school. Since, he has been immersed in the fine food industry both in Peterborough and the Muskokas. After taking a break from the restaurant world to oversee campuses at Trent University and lend his expertise to the specialty retail realm, he has once again returned to the kitchen to work in tandem with Amanda to bring some much needed flare and modern thinking to Peterborough’s vibrant downtown restaurant scene.
